Explore the New Face of Rado Watches at Topper Jewelers

British Navy Captain James Cook etched his name in the history books for charting much of the Pacific, including a first-ever circumnavigation of New Zealand and making first European contact with the eastern coast of Australia and the Hawaiian Islands. It was that spirit that has long guided the Captain Cook dive watch collection by Rado – a Swiss brand also recognized for its pioneering spirit, particularly in experimental materials like ceramic, long before they became commonplace throughout all price levels in the watch market.

In fact, did you know that Rado has been experimenting with ceramic elements on its watches for over 30 years? Far from a recent trend, there are few brands with the level of mastery of ceramic like Rado, and it's this expertise that echoes throughout the Swatch Group. Even within Rado's own watches, there are echelons of ceramic applications and finishes – from the beautiful matte ceramic bezels used on watches like the Captain Cook, to applications of Ceramos – a hybrid of titanium and ceramic, collectively referred to as "cermet." Rado also deploys high-tech plasma ceramic cases like those comprising the Diamaster watches, which carry a warm, metallic shine and a superior, scratch-resistant durability, a world apart from the matte-colored ceramic cases used by many other brands.

Even with all that technology, our favorite modern offerings from Rado have long been embodied in the simple vintage charm of its stainless steel Captain Cook vintage re-issue dive watches, which are now offered in a range of warm colors and sizes that are certain to accommodate the full spectrum of wrist preferences. My particular favorite is the new sunburst green-dialed variant, which maintains the 42mm case that's water resistant to 200 meters, and is replete with the fun rotating Rado logo at 12:00. We're offering this, and its blue-dialed cousin on the beads-of-rice bracelet with an strap package that includes premium leather and nylon straps bound up in a handsome leather watch roll, as a free gift with purchase while supplies last.

As we close in on the last two months of 2019, we've hit the ‘reset' button on our entire Rado collection at Topper, shifting focus to the brand's most elemental models like the Captain Cook watches, along with the newly re-launched Golden Horse collection. And to celebrate, we're hosting a WatchtheBay Meetup at Topper Fine Jewelers this Saturday, November 2nd. RSVP right here, then join us for refreshments, Moscow Mules, and browse our newly refreshed offerings with California's most active watch collecting group.

For those inquiring from outside the Bay Area, if you'd like to add a Rado watch to your collection, explore our Rado offerings right here. And if you'd like to speak with a sales representative directly, we'd welcome you to inquire by calling Topper Jewelers at 888-730-2221 or emailing info@topperjewelers.com.
