A sunny throwback to the beloved 44GS case from 1967
Measuring 36.5mm in diameter and 11.6mm in thickness, SBGW299’s mid-sized proportions are a throwback to the original 44GS from 1967, but with the full execution of a modern Grand Seiko timepiece. Even in this more compact silhouette, none of the distinct 44GS details are lost. Angles are razor-sharp, and finishing, with the case being polished by hand via Grand Seiko’s signature Zaratsu technique, remains exceptional. The blue dial with its dynamic sun ray pattern harmonizes the 44GS case design, which is completed by a stainless steel bracelet with a tri-fold clasp with a push-button release.
This reference is powered by Grand Seiko's own Caliber 9S64, which is assembled by hand by the artisans of Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi. It is a mechanical hand-winding movement with 72 hours of power reserve and an accuracy rating of -3 to +5 seconds per day.
