Bristol-based indie darling Fears Watches makes its long-awaited debut in North America in the form of this collaborative new reference. As the eleventh “Topper Edition” co-designed and offered exclusively here at Topper Jewelers, this new Fears Brunswick 40 follows the blueprint of the brand’s best-selling Brunswick reference, but in a newly engineered 40mm cushion case featuring a series of sporty new twists in the form of a new "California" dial with generous luminosity, 100 meters of water resistance, and a Swiss-made automatic movement, tailored for a lifetime of adventure.

Brunswick 40 White
Characterized by a bright, hand-polished liquid white lacquer dial made in Germany by one of the world’s finest dial makers, the time display on this Brunswick 40 Topper Edition is a study of legibility and texture, where the classic “California” combination of Roman and Arabic numerals are executed with thick, diamond-cut markers that have been coated with black gold to maximize contrast against the X1 Superluminova fill and milky white dial foundation. The lance-shaped hour and minute hands are manufactured in the United Kingdom by Fears and retain the brand’s signature silhouette, but with one distinct twist: they are generously filled with X1 Superluminova, which emits a blue glow in darkness. The cushion-shaped 316L stainless steel case of the white-dialed variant has no flat surfaces, with even the solid caseback having a gentle sweep. It exhibits both brushed and polished finishes, in keeping with the rich traditions of fine dress watches manufactured by Fears.

Characterized by a textured black lacquer dial made in Germany by one of the world’s finest dial makers, the brooding, high-contrast time display on this Brunswick 40 Topper Edition presents the classic “California” combination of Roman and Arabic numerals with thick, diamond-cut markers that have been coated with a precious rhodium plating maximize contrast against the X1 Superluminova fill and inky dial foundation. The lance-shaped hour and minute hands are manufactured in the United Kingdom by Fears and retain the brand’s signature silhouette, but with one distinct twist: they are generously filled with X1 Superluminova, which emits a blue glow in darkness. The cushion-shaped 316L stainless steel case of the black-dialed variant has no flat surfaces, with even the solid caseback having a gentle sweep. From the bezel to the mid-case and lugs, it is fully brushed throughout, preserving the adventurous spirit of this sporty new reference.
Limited to just 25 pieces in each dial color, this special collaboration is based around the Fears Brunswick — the Bristol-based maker’s second watch design from 2017 named after the nearby Brunswick Square. This classic mid-century Fears design has been embellished with elements unique to Topper design signatures from past editions, while maintaining key callouts to Fears’ history. This includes subtle elements like the “Stains-less” and “Tropicalised” engravings on the caseback, in addition to the jewel count at 6:00, punctuating the sharply contrasted lacquer dial and acknowledging the top grade Swiss-made ETA 2824 that beats within.
