This next-generation Breitling Superocean diver revisits the distinctive, pared-down aesthetic of the original SuperOcean Slow Motion chronograph from the 1960s and 1970s, yielding a highly technical tool watch that marries a fully modern and thoughtfully engineered case design with a touch of nostalgia. Built around a two-tone stainless steel case with 18k red gold accents, this new reference is reserved exclusively for collectors in the United States, and is limited to 200 pieces.
Water-resistant to 300 m (1000 ft), this Breitling Superocean is characterized by broad hands and oversized hourly indexes coated liberally in multiple colors of Super-LumiNova® to create a dazzling 'rainbow' effect while still allowing for exceptional readability underwater. Its uni-directional rotating dive bezel is topped with a scratchproof ceramic insert designed to resist wear and fading from sunlight exposure. This insert rotates on a gold bezel, offering a touch of elevated luxury to its rugged trappings. The white rubber strap is fitted with a folding clasp that allows for micro-adjustments of up to 15 mm for easy wear over rashguards and wetsuits.
Perhaps best of all, though this watch pays tribute to Breitling's legendary dive watches of yesteryear, you can dive with it, surf with it, swim with it, hit the beach bar with it, then wear it out to dinner. The Superocean perfectly balances the nostalgia of its heritage with a fresh new look.
