SUB 300 'Great White' Topper Edition

A steely tribute to the Pacific Ocean's apex predator

Presenting the DOXA SUB 300 'Great White' – a bold new Topper Edition offering a twist on DOXA's most iconic dive watch whose livery was inspired by the Great White Shark, native to Northern California’s nearby Gulf of the Farallones in the Pacific Ocean. 

Jutting out of this gulf are the Farallon Islands – a series of rocky sea stacks and islands shrouded in mystery and maritime lore, which are just barely visible from the westward-facing San Francisco shoreline on a clear day. Nicknamed “the Devil’s Teeth,” these islands are teeming with biodiversity, home to birds, marine mammals, and a thriving population of Great White Sharks. This classical DOXA SUB 300 pays tribute to those who once endeavored to dive and explore these islands, with its white and blue livery continuing the traditions of past Topper Editions while evoking the dark navy blue of the Pacific, and the white of the apex predators which call these waters home. Its high-contrast dial is actually fully luminous, glowing bright blue in low light – a first for any fully lumed DOXA SUB. 

Like the rest of the beloved DOXA SUB 300 collection, this ‘Great White’ Topper Edition is built around a familiar 42.5mm 316L stainless steel case. To preserve the dial’s unique symmetry and maximize its luminous signature in the dark, the watch is powered by a no-date COSC-certified automatic movement — another first for the SUB 300 platform, modern or otherwise. Also present is DOXA’s signature unidirectional rotating bezel, with its deep sawtooth edges and dual engravings (with depth measurements using the Imperial system – unique to the SUB 300 reference), enabling a diver to calculate both elapsed dive time and “no-stop” decompression dive times in accordance with US Navy diving tables. These engravings are finished in navy blue lacquer to match the hour markers on the dial. The watch is finished with an AR-coated, sapphire crystal, which retains the same uniquely domed shape as the plexiglass fitted to DOXA’s 1967 original.

A portion of the proceeds of this DOXA SUB will be donated to the Greater Farallons Association, a nonprofit organization which aims to continue critical work restoring and enhancing coastal habitats while protecting marine life in Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary, an area of 3,295 square miles off the northern and central California coast.
