Toppers is excited to offer a free extended warranty on the purchase of new watches. This warranty begins when the manufacturer's warranty runs out. As such, Topper Fine Jewelers will provide an additional non-transferable warranty for a period of one year.*
*Restrictions Apply. Service provided anywhere other than at Topper Fine Jewelers or a service center of the original manufacturer is not covered and shall void the warranty. Topper Fine Jewelers will have sole discretion to determine whether the work for the warranty will be performed "in house" by Topper Fine Jewelers or at a repair facility of our choice. The limited warranty does not cover bracelets, crystals, batteries, or any damage to the case or movement caused by moisture that might have entered the watch as a result of improper handling, nor does it apply, on a more general basis, if there is evidence of misuse or abuse. Only Topper Fine Jewelers will determine at its sole discretion to repair any watch under this warranty.
The Yachting Fears
The Fears Brunswick 40 'Helmsman' ES joins its counterpart in the Redcliff family as Fears' second model to carry the enhanced, adventure-ready Endurance Specification ('ES' for short) designation. The purpose-built 'Helmsman' ES is designed for yachting and has been created specifically to elegantly cater for the needs of those who find themselves regularly at the helm of a yacht or boat.
Like its smaller 38mm brethren, the Brunswick 40's elegant cushion-shaped case has no flat surfaces, with even the solid caseback having a gentle sweep. In keeping with the Endurance Specification namesake, the water resistance of this Brunswick 40 is uprated even further to 200 meters (20 ATM), allowing it to be submerged to great depths when the crown is screwed all the way in. (Ed: Naturally, any good skipper should be keeping his keel level and his wrist dry, but should you fancy a swim at your sailing destination, the watch will be well prepared.)
The hand-applied numerals (where the 12, 3, 6 and 9 hour markers are realized in numerical form with the remainder as indices) are milled from a block of brass before being diamond polished, coated in Fears Blue PVD and then filled with X1-grade Super-LumiNova® (that emits a cool blue once charged).
Behind the dial beats a customized Swiss-made, automatic La Joux-Perret G101 movement (that has had the date function removed). Winding itself when worn on the wrist this movement boasts a generous power reserve of 68 hours and a decorated winding rotor.
The Brunswick 40 'Helmsman' ES is fitted to an FKM rubber strap in Sailcloth White (finished with contrast stitching in a marine blue) textured in the mould to look like it's woven. The application of FKM rubber retains the classic aesthetic of sailcloth whilst modernising the feel and durability which results in a strap that is supremely comfortable but also extremely hard-wearing. Furthermore, it is lined in a waterproof rubber and is finished with Fears' bespoke pin buckle (featuring the Fears Cypher) that has been brushed to perfectly match the case finish.
