Yet, in our fast-paced daily lives, there is a growing demand for real experiences that allow you to take your time – such as winding a camera, placing a record on the turntable or winding a mechanical watch. Glashütte Original presents its newly refreshed 70s in its ongoing Vintage Collection — a sporty, TV-dialed watch that celebrates the magical charm of analog in color, texture, and tactile slimness.

The dial of the 70s exhibits a new ‘Hexagrid’ pattern, referring to a delicate grid of hexagons – a geometric shape that we also encounter in nature, for example in the fascinating order of honeycombs. On the in-house manufactured dial of the 70s, this characteristic structure is created by a delicate embossing that lends the surface a distinctive visual depth. Depending on the angle of the light, the delicate contours stand out more prominently or seem to blend gently into the background. This creates a lively interplay of light and shadow with a subtle effect, the full fascination of which is only revealed when viewed up close.

Together with its warm, retro design language, the new Glashütte Original 70s is built around a newly designed 39mm x 39mm stainless steel case that's equipped with the maker's newest patented Groove Lock strap changing system, enabling the wearer to quickly change between straps (sold separately) as they so choose. Inside the 70s beats Glashütte Original’s own in-house manufacture Calibre 36, a finely finished automatic movement with 100 hours of power reserve, ensuring the highest level of accuracy, autonomy, and reliability for everyday wear.
