TOPPER EXTENDED GUARANTEE
Extended Warranty
Toppers is excited to offer a free extended warranty on the purchase of new watches. This warranty begins when the manufacturer's warranty runs out. As such, Topper Fine Jewelers will provide an additional non-transferable warranty for a period of one year.*
*Restrictions Apply. Service provided anywhere other than at Topper Fine Jewelers or a service center of the original manufacturer is not covered and shall void the warranty. Topper Fine Jewelers will have sole discretion to determine whether the work for the warranty will be performed "in house" by Topper Fine Jewelers or at a repair facility of our choice. The limited warranty does not cover bracelets, crystals, batteries, or any damage to the case or movement caused by moisture that might have entered the watch as a result of improper handling, nor does it apply, on a more general basis, if there is evidence of misuse or abuse. Only Topper Fine Jewelers will determine at its sole discretion to repair any watch under this warranty.
Inspired by the incredible gift of nature
Grand Seiko’s Nature of Time philosophy is expertly expressed in the timepieces it creates, demonstrating grace, precision, and style. The pure, understated, and classical design aesthetic of Grand Seiko is evident in every detail of this new Elegance reference, as is the skill and care taken by the watchmakers at the Shizukuishi Watch Studio, where each watch is crafted.
The dial of SBGK017 takes its inspiration from Nanbu tekki ironware, a form of metalwork produced in the city of Morioka in Iwate prefecture. This traditional handcraft was first created during Japan’s Edo period (1603-1868), and its rich history of craftsmanship continues to this day. Nanbu tekki is prized for its durability and uniform heat distribution and features a distinctive texture called "arare" or hailstone on its exterior. That distinctive texture finds its way onto the dark gray dial of this timepiece.
This timepiece's slim profile case is polished by a special Zaratsu method created to accentuate the beauty of the curved surfaces. The dial and sapphire crystal are also curved to give the watch a classic look. The minute and power reserve indicator hands are shaped by hand so that they follow the dials' domed contour.
Housed inside the 39mm case is the Caliber 9S63, which offers a small seconds hand at the nine o’clock position and a power reserve indicator at three o’clock. While the sub-dial is easy to read, it is also discreetly unobtrusive and allows the eye to enjoy the beauty of the pattern from which the dial is made.
