TOPPER EXTENDED GUARANTEE
Extended Warranty
Toppers is excited to offer a free extended warranty on the purchase of new watches. This warranty begins when the manufacturer's warranty runs out. As such, Topper Fine Jewelers will provide an additional non-transferable warranty for a period of one year.*
*Restrictions Apply. Service provided anywhere other than at Topper Fine Jewelers or a service center of the original manufacturer is not covered and shall void the warranty. Topper Fine Jewelers will have sole discretion to determine whether the work for the warranty will be performed "in house" by Topper Fine Jewelers or at a repair facility of our choice. The limited warranty does not cover bracelets, crystals, batteries, or any damage to the case or movement caused by moisture that might have entered the watch as a result of improper handling, nor does it apply, on a more general basis, if there is evidence of misuse or abuse. Only Topper Fine Jewelers will determine at its sole discretion to repair any watch under this warranty.
Inspired by a divine, natural phenomenon
Every winter, something magical happens on the waters of Lake Suwa. When temperatures fall, and the lake freezes over, mysterious cracks and ridges form across its surface, some as high as over a foot tall. Legend calls this Omiwatari, or where the Shinto gods walk out over the ice. This legend has inspired the craftsmen and women of Grand Seiko at the nearby Shinshu Watch Studio to create a timepiece that invokes the beauty of this natural phenomenon — the SBGY007 “Omiwatari.”
The first thing viewers of the SBGY007 notice is its striking dial — ice-blue in color and textured to mimic the undulations of the frozen lake. This effect is achieved by hammering the dial’s mold to create its edges and rounded shape. Its hour and minute hands are razor sharp, and its indexes are polished to perfection. The sweeping seconds hand glides effortlessly across the dial, and its bold blue color contrasts nicely against its background. The overall effect is mesmerizing, as its interplay with light, angle, and shadow gives this watch a visual depth that can be appreciated by both watch enthusiasts and casual observers alike. The final product is a true example of Grand Seiko’s Nature of Time design philosophy.
Housed inside the 38.5mm case is the handwound Spring Drive Caliber 9R31, which has a dual barrel structure that delivers a power reserve of 72 hours when fully wound. Turning the watch over, viewers are treated to an exhibition caseback that showcases the expertly finished movement highlighted with tempered blue screws and its power reserve indicator.
