5 Sport Field MOTOCOMPO Limited Edition

Inspired by the legendary ultra-compact Honda Motocompo

Introduced in 1981, the Honda Motocompo was a revolutionary compact motorcycle designed specifically to fit in the trunk of a car. And though the Motocompo might have been a little too far ahead of its time, its iconic design lives on, inspiring this Seiko 5 Sport Field Limited Edition, which pulls design cues from the Motocompo into an also-compact 36.4mm case diameter. For decades, the Seiko 5 Sports collection of watches has delivered consistently high levels of reliability, durability, and performance, and this reference maintains these traditions, thanks to its workhorse 4R36 automatic day & date movement, produced in-house by Seiko.

Its bright yellow dial features the striking yellow color of the Motocompo with the Honda logo emblazoned along the black section that cuts across the center. In a further nod to the Motocompo, the “Automatic” wordmark at the 6 oʼclock position features a special font inspired by the original Motocompo logo. Other charming details abound, like the crown which is engraved with the word “TURN,” inspired by the design of the fuel port, or the metal keepers on the nylon strap bearing the inscription "Carrying Point," as a nod to the straps and callouts meant to secure the Motocompo to a car with a strap. Flip the watch over, and you'll find the caseback marked with the silhouette of the Motocompo, the words “Limited Edition,” and an individual serial number. The watch is presented in special packaging designed to resemble the corrugated carton used to ship the Motocompo.
